THREE SEPARATE BEDROOMS 1700s Fletcher Tavern B&B - Westford, MA - North Shore

Beautifully decorated, light-filled 18th century Fletcher Tavern ($115 per night for EACH of the three bedrooms; $345 for all three bedrooms per night) easily qualifies for being the picture- postcard-perfect place to stay in New England. The cost for up to two people staying in one of the three bedrooms in the Tavern is $115/night. Alternatively, up to two people can reserve the Eastlake Suite, a lovely setting in which they have their own sitting room (for $165/night). If you are a group of up to five people, then you can reserve all three bedrooms in the Tavern for $345/night. The bedrooms are uniquely decorated, reflecting life over the last 300 years. Each bedroom (including the Suite) has space for and is limited to two people.

It seems important to emphasize the following: EACH bedroom in the Tavern (for one or, at the most, two people) costs $115 per night. If you would like to reserve space for four people, and they would be sleeping in two bedrooms, then their cost per night will be $230. Along those lines, if you reserve all THREE bedrooms, then the cost for using all three bedrooms for each night will be $345. The Eastlake Bedroom can also be a Suite, i.e., a bedroom with its own, private sitting room, adjoining the bedroom for $165/night or for the discounted rate of $1050 per week. The Suite offers luxury which will surely delight you! You'll have complementary beverages (including coffee, tea, etc.) plus snacks (assorted fruit and nibbles) to enjoy. Your own HD TV (plus Blu-Ray and Bose speakers) are in the welcoming sitting room which overlooks Westford Common and a typical New England Parish Church with its picturesque steeple.

Overlooking Westford Common, Fletcher Tavern is situated in a stereotypic New England village with a view during the winter months (when leaves are no longer on the trees) of the 1700s Church, with its picturesque steeple, on the other side of the Common. Spectacular English gardens fairly bursting with blossoms surround the Tavern throughout Spring, Summer and Fall. A cozy fire in the wood burning stove in the patio room brings warm to all who gather there during the winter months.

The Tavern Room, on the 3rd floor, offers a quiet retreat that includes a rope bed which happens to be a feather bed (double); the Eastlake Room with its queen bed reflects the elegance of the Victorian Era; the Room With a View is light-filled, has a four poster double bed, and overlooks the Town Common. Twenty-first century add-ons, for you to enjoy include high speed internet throughout the Tavern plus HD TV, Blue-Ray, and Bose speakers in the Tavern Room and also in the sitting room. Bathrooms are private or ensuite. Throughout the parts of the Tavern that visitors can access, visitors will surely find delight as they come upon unique treasures such as the collection of Tarzan books in the spacious bathroom of the Tavern Room.....and antique clocks (including a 'rope' clock that hangs next to the stairwell) that continue to mark the passage of time.

We would add that much as we love children, we are not set up with the necessary accoutrements for babies, toddlers or small children.

Makings for tea and coffee are in the sitting room and in the Tavern Room, along with fresh fruit and home-baked cookies or cheese and crackers. Bathrobes for guests' use are in each bedroom. Hair dryers, soap, shampoo and conditioner, and towels/wash cloths are in each of the bathrooms. Alarm clocks are in each bedroom.

Guests are welcomed with tea or coffee and a sweet snack which gives hostess and guests opportunity to chat, usually in the patio room with its view of woodpeckers, cardinals, blue jays, etc., along with exceptional gardens or with the cozy warmth of the wood burning stove, depending on the season.

Breakfasts are a mouth-watering start to the day, including fruit, a full English breakfast, tea / coffee. With a multitude of activities at hand in the Westford area you can keep yourself happily busy throughout each day from dawn to dusk, or you can allow yourself quiet time, curling up with a book or listening to TV, regaining peace 'midst the whispering echoes of the past in this lovely old home. The current owner is the fourth great grand-daughter of the original Tavern owner (Timothy Fletcher).

The multitude of activities in the area include Forge Pond (fishing, boating, swimming off the sandy beach), Nashoba Valley Ski Area, Kimball Farm (ice cream!), the Butterfly Place, golf, genealogical research with help available from Westford Museum genealogical experts, auctions of antiques and an antique barn filled with treasures, horseback riding, walking and bike trails, yoga and Pilates, plus numerous tourist attractions (including Emerson's Home, Louisa May Alcott's House, Walden Pond, the Concord Museum, the Colonial Inn, etc.). More? There's a unique galley and artists' studios in a restored mill (Lowell), with eye-catching exhibitions. 15 miles away is The Robert S. Peabody Museum, one of the nations' major repositories of Native American archaeological collections. Excellent restaurants are just down Boston Road. Forty five minutes away by car are the amenities of Boston itself (music, ballet, plus all the history you could hope for!).

As a quintessential, updated New England Tavern, Fletcher Tavern is very special indeed. On your arrival you can expect to feel as though you have discovered a unique 'home-away-from-home'.
